HGV Technician

• Full Time Permanent
• Monday - Friday - Shifts Available 8am-5pm or 7am-4pm
• No Weekends
• Hourly rate between £17 - £21 per hour

Responsibilities of an HGV Technician:

• In the role of HGV Technician, you will be essential in maintaining and repairing heavy goods vehicles to ensure optimal performance and safety.
• Reporting to the Workshop Manager
• Servicing
• Maintaining and fixing various faults and mechanical issues
• Dealing with electrical faults in units
• Maintaining and fixing driving and parking sensors
• Required to work on HGV Units and Trailers
• Complete administrative tasks and reports as requested
• Fixing Suzie lines and connections
• Diagnostic work
• Brakes checks and changes
• Suspension work
• MOT Prep & Post MOT repairs

Requirements of HGV Technician

• MUST have a Level 3 qualification with Heavy Vehicle Maintenance and Repair
• Full UK driving licence (HGV Licence class 1 or class 2 beneficial)
• Must have your own hand tools to bring with you

What you can expect as a Vehicle Panel Beater:

• Full Time/Permanent
• £15 - £19 per hour. (Dependent on experience)
• Fantastic and achievable bonus between £300 - £1000 per month
• Monday – Friday
• NO Weekends

The Role of a Vehicle Panel Beater:

• Finishing the repair in a way that matches the rest of the bodywork or preparing the surface for a paint sprayer.
• Mending rusted parts of a vehicle’s bodywork.
• Replacement of panels.
• Panel Repairs (Straightening and filling)
• Body Alignment
• Welding ARC, MIG, TIG and bonding
• Panel Beating (Major or Minor damage repair)
• Jig Work
• Filler Work
• Pin pulling
• Removing any dents in panels.
• Repairing minor scratches or making replacement panels.

Qualifications

• NVQ/IMI/City & Guilds Level 2 or 3 in Panel Beating or be time served with over 4 years of experience.
• Hold a current valid driving licence
• Previous experience within an accident repair centre essential.

• 8am to 5:30pm with 1 hour break

This is a MOBILE Smart Repairer position so must be comfortable with driving around to various locations.

• Repairing minor scratches or making replacement panels
• Experience in stripping and refitting a variety of makes and models of vehicle
• Stripping and Fitting Vehicles before and after paint.
• Stripping and Fitting bumpers and door.
• Repairing interior Plastics and Seats
• Repairing Exterior Plastics
• Dealing with wiring throughout the car
• Prepare vehicles to be sprayed and mixing paint to ensure a perfect match in order to spray
• Painting vehicles accordingly to a high standard
• Masking up vehicles
• Priming vehicles ready for spraying

HGV Technician/Mobile HGV Technician
 

This is a Workshop & Mobile HGV Technician role – You MUST be ok doing Mobile as well

Details for a HGV Technician

• Basic Salary £46,930.00 with OT potential of up to £61,750.00 OTE
• Over time of 10hrs per week available at time and half 
• Monday to Friday - 7am to 4pm NO SHIFTS, 
• Every other Saturday required – 7am -12pm
• Van Provided

Responsibilities of a HGV Technician

• Working on Refuse trucks so previous experience of this is highly beneficial.
• Required to carry out thorough inspections and diagnostics on HGVs to identify issues
• Complete repairs and maintenance on various HGV components, such as engines, brakes, and electrical systems.
• Provide excellent customer service by communicating effectively with clients regarding repairs and maintenance updates.
• Fit and manufacture any parts as required for repairs, ensuring precision to ensure they match original schematics.
• Operate forklifts (if trained to do so) to move heavy equipment and materials within the workshop.
• Heavy lifting will be required during some of the repair process
• Maintain a clean and organised work environment, adhering to health and safety standards.

Requirement of a HGV Technician

• Level 2 or 3 Qualification as a HGV Technician or be time served within a similar role for 5+ years.
• Full UK driving licence with no major driving convictions – DD, DR, or IN
• If you have a valid HGV Class 1/Class 2 licence with a in date Tach and CPC card this is highly benefical but not essential
• Experience and knowledge of how to read and interpret schematics effectively.
• Experience in welding is beneficial but not essential
• Ability to work efficiently both independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
