Job Description

What you can expect as a Commercial Vehicle Technician:

• 42.5 – 45 hours a week
• Monday - Friday + alternating Saturdays
• 8am to 5:30pm with 1 hour break
• Alternating Saturdays 8am-1pm
• Salary between £29,000 - £40,000 - Dependent on experience and qualifications
• Individual time save bonus at 95% efficiency
• UNCAPPED Individual Time Save Bonus
• Performance related SUPER bonus up to £4000
• 33 days annual leave (including bank holidays)

The Role of a Commercial Vehicle Technician:

• Carrying out MOT Tests on cars and vans if you have a valid MOT Tester Licence
• Carry out services on specific makes and models of vehicles
• Perform maintenance and repairs on customer vehicles - such as oil changes, fluid level checks, and tire rotation
• Identify issues with vehicles using the diagnostic equipment
• General maintenance and repairs
• Brakes checks and changes (pads and discs)
• Pre MOT & Post MOT repairs
• Suspension work
• Repairs on lights
• Repairing and replacing exhausts
• Repairing and replacing clutches
• Dealing with gearboxes
• Maintaining and repairing timing belts/wet belts and cambelts
• Dealing with alternators, engines, radiators, batteries, and many other mechanical repairs
• Plan and keep up to date records of repair procedures using charts manuals and experience.
• Test the functionality of parts and systems once repairs are completed

Commercial Vehicle Technician Requirements:

• NVQ/City & Guilds/IMI certifications required to Level 3 or Level 2 accepted with a minimum of 5 years services
• Having a valid MOT Tester Certificate is beneficial but not essential
• Hold a full valid driver license.
• Previous dealership experience beneficial but not essential
