HGV Technician

• Full Time/Permanent
• Salary based on a 40-hour week with £40.00 bonus if 40 hours attended.
• £18.00 to £22.00 per hour dependent on experience.
• Hours are Mon - Fri 8:30 – 17:30 with overtime available.
• 20 days holiday plus bank holidays.
• Family run garage

Responsibilities of an HGV Technician:

• In the role of HGV Technician, you will be essential in maintaining and repairing heavy goods vehicles to ensure optimal performance and safety.
• Reporting to the Workshop Manage
• Servicing
• Maintaining and fixing various faults and mechanical issues
• Parts ordering and stock taking
• Dealing with electrical faults in units
• Maintaining and fixing driving and parking sensors
• Required to work on HGV Units and Trailers (occasionally)
• Complete administrative tasks and reports as requested
• Fixing Suzie lines and connections
• Diagnostic work
• Brakes checks and changes
• Suspension work
• MOT Prep & Post MOT repairs
• Must be capable of stripping body parts and repairing/replacing them

Requirements of HGV Technician

• Have a Level 2 or 3 qualification with Heavy Good Vehicles but not essential. Times served with 8+ years experience accepted
• Full UK driving licence (HGV Licence beneficial but not essential)
• Experience in fault diagnostic equipment, e.g. Tech tool, STAR and JAL and including trailer systems
• Must have your own hand tools to bring with you
