Job Description
HGV Technician
- Full Time/Permanent
- Salary based on a 40-hour week with £40.00 bonus if 40 hours attended.
- £18.00 to £22.00 per hour dependent on experience.
- Hours are Mon - Fri 8:30 – 17:30 with overtime available.
- 20 days holiday plus bank holidays.
- Family run garage
Responsibilities of an HGV Technician:
- In the role of HGV Technician, you will be essential in maintaining and repairing heavy goods vehicles to ensure optimal performance and safety.
- Reporting to the Workshop Manage
- Servicing
- Maintaining and fixing various faults and mechanical issues
- Parts ordering and stock taking
- Dealing with electrical faults in units
- Maintaining and fixing driving and parking sensors
- Required to work on HGV Units and Trailers (occasionally)
- Complete administrative tasks and reports as requested
- Fixing Suzie lines and connections
- Diagnostic work
- Brakes checks and changes
- Suspension work
- MOT Prep & Post MOT repairs
- Must be capable of stripping body parts and repairing/replacing them
Requirements of HGV Technician
- Have a Level 2 or 3 qualification with Heavy Good Vehicles but not essential. Times served with 8+ years experience accepted
- Full UK driving licence (HGV Licence beneficial but not essential)
- Experience in fault diagnostic equipment, e.g. Tech tool, STAR and JAL and including trailer systems
- Must have your own hand tools to bring with you
